• What is the Samurai Game® - Who Invented it – Who owns it?
The Samurai Game® is arguably the most unique, intense and
challenging leadership and teambuilding simulation available for organizational
and corporate trainings & retreats, university and school leadership courses and
programs, and seminar & training companies serving the general public.
The Game was invented in 1977 by George Leonard author of
numerous books including: Mastery, The Silent Pulse, The
Ultimate Athlete, Walking on the Edge of the World, The Way of
Aikido: Life Lessons from an American Sensei, and The Life We Are Given
(co-author Michael Murphy). The Game is copyrighted and owned by George Leonard
and by The Leonard Trust.

• Who trains and certifies The Samurai Game® facilitators and
what is the process?

www.AlliedRonin.com has been authorized by George Leonard and The Leonard
Trust to serve as the sole training and certification representative
worldwide. Samurai Game® facilitators must be trained and certified by either
George Leonard or Lance Giroux. Call 1-707-769-0328 or send email to

for a current list of officially certified Samurai Game® facilitators. Please

your email request for training and certification details.
• What makes the Samurai Game® unique and what is it used for?
Because the Game is “live and unscripted” no two Samurai Games®
are alike. Each serves to significantly deepen individual and organizational
awareness, leadership effectiveness and team cohesion. Every Game presents a
series of unpredictable and fascinating examples that can reflect: the
pressures of business, organizational dynamics and politics, professional
competition, family and individual daily life.
At a minimum the Game presents repeated opportunities for each participant to
observe themself honestly on these questions:
(1) To what degree are you willing act decisively and with
integrity to get the results you say that you want and need?
(2) Upon what principles and core values do you stake your life
and success?
(3) How well do you function in the face of uncertainty and the
unfair.
For these reasons individuals and organizations often invest
repeatedly in the experience.
